Eggs have many benefits to them. If you are a weight lifter, or just looking to build muscle, eating egg whites will get you to building muscle. The reason egg whites can do this is because they are filled with protein. Protein builds muscle, restores and heals muscles.

Since protein in the body is decomposed into its constituent parts – amino acids – which are then used to construct our own proteins, it is crucial to the amino acid composition of the protein. Usually we divided all the amino acids in two groups – the essential and nonessential. Essential amino acids are those that our body cannot manufacture itself and must get from food. These include: tryptophan, lysine, leucine, isoleucine, valine, threonine, methionine and phenylalanine. Two more – cysteine and tyrosine – may be synthesized by the body in case of large need, for which they are called semi-essential. Other amino acids are alanine, arginine, asparagine, aspartic acid, glutamine, glutamic acid, glycine, proline, and serine – interchangeable.

Since some vegetarians exclude eggs, milk and meat from their diet they are not getting the needed proteins they need from food.
